Hey there, friends!
The holiday season is upon us, and you know what that means—time to indulge in all the festive cheer, from twinkling lights to delicious treats! Speaking of delicious treats, this week I took a little trip down memory lane with a stop at World Market to hunt for some classic British Christmas goodies. Let me tell you, it felt like stepping right into a piece of home!
What I love most about this time of year is blending traditions—bringing a little slice of my British Christmas to all the American festivities I’ve grown to love. It’s all about family, music, food and sharing that makes you smile, no matter where you’re from.
First on my list were the mince pies—those buttery, fruit-filled delights that instantly transport me back to my childhood Christmases, especially when they are warmed up in the oven.
Oh boy! I found a big tin of Quality Street and a box of Roses (because no British Christmas is complete without those colorful chocolates). Let’s not forget the Christmas crackers! If you’ve never pulled one before, it’s basically a party in a tube—complete with a paper crown, a silly joke, and a tiny trinket. They’re coming with me to my shows this season, so don’t be surprised if we pop one or two together!
You either love them or hate them…Twiglets. They remind me of my dad, because he loved them.
So, tell me—what’s your go-to holiday treat? Maybe I’ll have to try some new ones this year. I’d love to hear about your favorite Holiday treats.
Wishing you a merry, musical Christmas filled with love, laughter, and maybe a Quality Street chocolate or two. 🎶🎄
Cheers,
Terry Lee Ridley
P.S. Don’t forget this Friday night (December 20th) I’ll be at the Lincoln Jamboree in Hodgenville KY with Todd Bodenheimer and the Million Dollar Band for The Killer and the King. Doors open 6:30pm, Showtime is 7:15pm and tickets are just $10 at the door.
